Runners and their dogs gathered at a forest trailhead

Event Details

What to expect at an IronPooch event

Every IronPooch features at least two race courses: a longer (4–6 mile) trail running course for more experienced runners, and a shorter (1–3 mile) obstacle course designed to be approachable for all ages and abilities. The longer course often overlaps the obstacle course and both courses feature fun obstacles to conquer with your pooch.

Not racing? There's still plenty to do.

But what if you or your pup aren't up for the challenge? We've got lots of fun for non-racers as well! Our race village features lots of local sponsors and vendors who offer free schwag and discounted gear to attendees. These sponsors and vendors are usually local canine-focused businesses such as pet stores, dog gear retailers, pet grooming shops, doggy daycare/boarding facilities, and more.

Along with sponsor tents we offer free tent space for local nonprofit organizations to promote their foster animals and fun fundraising + adoption drives. Walk one of their pups around for the day; vote for your favorite furry fashion model at the runway show; dance with dogs to live local musicians, get your picture taken on our sample obstacles and photo booths, and cheer the runners on at the start/finish line!
